Responsible Sourcing Charter

A written standard, not a marketing line.

The commitments Burlcore Trading holds itself to, and requires of every producer, transporter and counterparty within its corridors.

OECD-aligned due diligence, applied consistently across every consignment.

Responsible sourcing is a workflow, not a slogan. Burlcore Trading operates a written due-diligence programme modelled on the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas, adapted to the specifics of medium-scale precious metals production. This charter summarises the commitments that govern our engagement with every producer, transporter, refiner and buyer in our corridors.

Producer eligibility

Every upstream producer is evaluated against a formal set of criteria: a valid mining licence issued by the host jurisdiction, a functioning export permit, on-site inspection by our compliance desk or a nominated third party, and evidence of legal labour practice. Producers unable to satisfy any of these criteria are not onboarded, regardless of commercial attractiveness.

Chain-of-custody documentation

Each consignment moves with a physical and digital chain-of-custody file that records origin, weight, seal numbers, transport legs, custodian signatures and independent assay. The file is preserved for the audit period required by the destination jurisdiction and made available to independent auditors on request.

Sanctions and PEP screening

All counterparties are screened at onboarding and re-screened on a rolling basis against consolidated sanctions lists maintained by the United Nations, the European Union, the United Kingdom's OFSI and the United States' OFAC, and against politically exposed persons databases. A positive hit triggers a formal review before any engagement proceeds.

Prohibited origins

We do not source from conflict-affected or high-risk areas as defined by the OECD, from jurisdictions or entities under active international sanctions, from artisanal producers operating outside a formal legal framework, or from any chain that cannot evidence tax and royalty payment to the host jurisdiction.

Independent audit

The Burlcore Trading due-diligence programme is subject to periodic independent review. Findings and corrective actions are documented in an annual due-diligence report available to institutional counterparties under confidentiality.

Grievance mechanism

Any individual or organisation with a credible concern about a Burlcore Trading corridor or counterparty may raise it in confidence via the address below. Concerns are logged, reviewed by the compliance desk and, where warranted, escalated to independent review. Retaliation against a good-faith complainant is prohibited under our internal policy.
